Refund Policy

The International Journal of Innovative Research (IJIR) follows a clear and transparent Refund Policy to address potential concerns related to article processing charges (APCs), submission fees, and any other financial transactions related to the publication process.

1. Refund Eligibility

  • Before Acceptance: If a manuscript is withdrawn before it has been accepted for publication, any submission fees or APCs that have been paid are generally refundable, provided the withdrawal request is made promptly and before the acceptance decision has been communicated to the author.

  • After Acceptance: Once a manuscript has been accepted for publication, any fees paid (including APCs and submission fees) are non-refundable, even if the manuscript is later withdrawn or the author decides not to continue with the publication.

  • Post-Publication: After the article has been published online or in print, no refunds will be issued. This applies to all fees associated with the publication process, including submission and processing charges.

2. Refund Process

  • Request Submission: To initiate a refund request, the corresponding author must submit a formal request via email to the journal’s editorial office. The request must include details such as the manuscript ID, the reason for the refund, and proof of payment if applicable.

  • Processing Time: Refund requests will be processed within 30 days of receipt. The author will be notified of the outcome of their request. Refunds are typically issued via the same method of payment used for the original transaction (e.g., credit card, bank transfer).

  • Partial Refunds: In some cases, partial refunds may be offered for fees that have already been spent on administrative processing or peer review. These partial refunds will be determined on a case-by-case basis by the editorial board.

3. Non-Refundable Fees

  • Editorial and Peer Review Costs: Once a manuscript has entered the peer review stage, the editorial and peer review services are considered to be delivered, and any associated fees will not be refunded.

  • Proofing and Typesetting: After the manuscript has been accepted and the proofing or typesetting process has begun, no refunds will be issued for fees associated with these stages of publication.

  • Printing Fees: For print-on-demand services, printing fees paid for physical copies of the journal or article are non-refundable once the print order has been processed.

4. Exceptional Circumstances

  • Technical or System Errors: If a refund is requested due to an issue caused by a technical or system error (e.g., double payment or incorrect billing), the editorial office will investigate the issue promptly and, if applicable, issue a full refund.

  • Miscommunication: In cases where there is a misunderstanding regarding the fees or publication process, the editorial office will review the situation on a case-by-case basis and may provide a refund or partial refund as appropriate.

  • Editorial Decision: If a manuscript is rejected during the peer review process, authors may not be eligible for a refund of submission or APC fees, as these fees cover the administrative costs of the review process.

5. Refund Requests for Institutional Subscriptions

  • Subscription Fees: In the case of institutional subscriptions to the journal, refunds are provided only under exceptional circumstances, such as a technical failure that prevents access to the journal content for an extended period. In such cases, the institution must provide documentation of the issue.

  • Refund Period: Subscription fees are generally non-refundable once the subscription period has commenced.

6. Refund Policy Updates

  • The Refund Policy is subject to change at the discretion of the editorial board. Any changes to the policy will be communicated to authors and institutions promptly.

  • Transparency: The journal strives to maintain transparency in all financial transactions, and any changes to the refund policy will be reflected on the official website.
